The Pope is an old man who regenerates every few decades into a new Pope!

In this way, he is much like popular children's TV character Dr Who.

However, in many other ways, he's not much like Dr Who. I don't think the Pope has ever fallen off a pylon. I don't think they even have pylons in Italy! They just cart the power around on the back of a mule.

But enough about Italy - let's get back to the Pope!

Sometimes the Pope is very tall. Sometimes he is very short. You want to know who the shortest pope was? Well OK!

The shortest pope was a Pope called Leo the Eleventh. He was so short, as soon as he became Pope he fell down a pot hole and suffocated and died! No-one knew where he was, and they only discovered his withered body a month later! Poor old Leo the Eleventh!
