If you're an American, you'll immediately know who that is an impression of: it is an impression of Yogi Bear the bear!

Yogi and his brother Boo Boo were the stars of popular 1960s cartoon series 'The Yogi Bear Show'. The show's success was no accident: it was constantly inventive, and full of hilarious characters, such as Yogi Bear.
But you know what was an accident? The creation of Yogi Bear himself!
Here is that amazing story:

In 1948, an animator named Keith Hanna-Barbera was working on science-fiction classic 'The Jetsons'. It was Hanna-Barbera's job to animate the smoke puffs that came out George Jetson's space-car!

One day, Hanna-Barbera accidentally sneezed and drew a smoke puff that looked a bit like a bear. Suddenly he had an idea!
What if he created a show exactly like The Jetsons but instead of people it had bears, instead of being set in outer-space it was set in the woods, and instead of clothes, everyone was naked except for a hat and tie!

And so Yogi Bear was created!

'I'm much smarter than the average bear!'.
I'm not saying that I'm smarter than the average bear (although I obviously am) - I was merely quoting Yogi Bear's famous catchphrase!
The meaning of this was lost on many viewers: most were unaware of the common bear intelligence level.

Lost for no longer!

The most average bear is a bear called Chris, who lives in some woods near Clacton.

I once met Chris, and I shot and killed him.
