Why are hot dogs called hot dogs?
I have no idea. But I'd like to find out one day! And so would you.
Well, luckily for both of us, the day of discovery is upon us. Today, we will discover why hot dogs have that particular name. Today... GO!
It has something to do with the shape.
Anyway, hot dogs are really delicious, no matter the origin of their name. I love hot dogs!
"In a bun, on a train, in a plane, I will eat them anywhere, but I won't eat them out of a tramp's hair!"
That is the slogan for an advert for hot dogs that I just thought up - and for the most part, it's based on my real feelings.
I don't know what Richard Martin's feelings are toward hot dogs - I've never met the man - but he must love hot dogs even more than I do, since he is the fastest hot dog eater!
On September 15th 1999, Richard ate more than 50 hot dogs in two minutes! I did some sums, and found out that that's almost one hot dog every two seconds!
When asked afterwards where the hot dogs had come from, he simply answered "Morrisons".
WOW!
