Mintiest Mint

Mint is a plant, which can often be found in fields.
You can identify it by the strong, minty smell it gives off when you rub against it.

Don't try to eat raw mint leaves, though! Mint, like most plants, is full of poison. There's the same amount of poison in a mint plant as there is in a bag full of cobras!

Hundreds of years ago, this caused cavemen a dilemma. The smell of mint was very good at masking bad breath, a serious problem when every meal revolved around raw dinosaur eggs and pond scum. But was it a solution worth a slow, agonsing death?
Since they were cavemen, and hadn't yet evolved into real, thinking people, they often decided that it was.

Of course, this problem is now nothing but a distant memory.
In the 18th century, scientists discovered how to turn the mint plant into mint powder, thereby removing all the poison and enabling even the most reeking trap to be transformed into a lovely, fresh oasis of minty pleasure!

This was briefly possible with just one, all powerful lozenge - the mintiest mint, discovered by schoolboy Percy Withers in 1983.
But alas, the secret of the mintiest mint was lost forever soon after its creation:

Young Percy was one morning perusing a sweet shop for some sweets, and accidentally knocked a brown liquid (possibly Dr Pepper) over several packs of mints. Suddenly, they all fused together, and some kind of really minty chemical reaction occurred!
Instantly, the shop became so intensely minty, that no human was able to survive. And then a giant crack opened up, and the Earth swallowed up the shop, and all that was left was a slightly minty waft of air, coming out of a drain.

That same waft can still be smelt today, ensuring the legend of the mintiest mint will live forever!
Perhaps one day, its secret will be re-discovered.
