Horses are wierd creatues.

They look a bit like massive, deformed rats.
If pigeons are the rats of the air, horses are surely the massive pigeons of the ground.

Their rat-iness is no mere coincidence, however. Many years ago, before you or I were born, a rat evolved into a horse!
Yes, once again, evolution is to blame. Curse you, mother nature!

Today, horses are used mainly for looking at, and feeding apples to. But they used to do all kinds of things: pulling cars, mowing the lawn - there were even 'police horses'. Unfortunately, they all got blown up by some disgruntled Irish farmers.

The tallest horse is named 'Joe 90', after the popular cartoon character Joe 90.
Joe 90 lives in a field in Herne Bay, England.
And Joe 90 is ten and half hands tall, whatever the hell that means!
