Superman is probably one of the most recognisable super heroes in the world, after the Martian Manhunter.

He symbolises all the things that are great about the United States of the USA: secret identities, men wearing tights, useless spectacles and tabloid journalism.

Now, I shouldn't need to summarize the story of Superman - you should already know it off by heart, like the Bible. Basically it's all about a girl finding an alien egg in the ocean. She puts it into her swimming pool for a few years, and Superman eventually hatches out of it!

But Superman is no ordinary alien bird - he has a multitude of magical powers, and he uses them to rescue people in dangerous situations.
And then he transforms into a corpse.

But what are Superman's magical powers?
It's difficult to say exactly, since he seems to sprout a new one whenever necessary. However, his most famous are:

The ability to fly,
He can see through walls and some doors. But he can't see through lead, even though lead is really soft and rubbish,
Heat beams come out of his head,
Super speed,
Bullets bounce off him,
Super strong...

And so on. If you're interested in Superman's other abilities, why not visit your local library?
They probably won't be able to help you, but maybe you can 'have a go' on the photocopier to while away the time.

Anyway, the worst ability is not listed above. It's one of his many lesser known powers - for example, did you know he can read people's minds?
Well, he can.

Superman's worst ability is his ability to vibrate so intensely, he turns into a gas.

I saw him do that on TV once.
