If I presented you with a chicken egg, what would your first reaction be?

I suspect you would crack it into a frying pan and create a scrambled egg!

What you hopefully wouldn't do would be to throw the egg as far as possible.
You see, after my long journey to visit you, I would probably be rather hungry, and a nice scrambled egg would be much appreciated.

Also, throwing a raw chicken egg is dangerous, due to the many diseases contained within - including the plague and hepatitis!

However, there exist those who ignore this danger, going so far as to compete to see how far each can throw chicken eggs.

One such foolhardy soul is Kevin Bristol of Northampton, UK!
In 2002, he achieved the longest chicken egg throw with a distance of 21 metres: the length of five unusually short football pitches!
