"Left, right, left, right, left, right... Attention!
Stop!
GO GO GO GO GO!
Aaaarrrghh!"
If any of that is familiar to you, you must be a soldier! Congratulations!
Soldiers are very useful, especially during wartime. It is their job to run headlong into certain death. Other tasks that soldiers do include 'becoming mutilated' and 'being visited by Bob Hope'.
Traditionally, to become a soldier, you must be a human being. Other species are generally frowned upon, due to their unwillingness to run headlong into certain death.
But this rule is sometimes bent to allow animals into the ranks... and the inclusion of Nils Olav into the Norwegian Army is an example of this - for Colonel-in-Chief Nils Olav is a penguin, the highest military ranked penguin in the World!
Nils isn't alone. The Norwegian Army also includes Sergeant Johan McWhiskerson (mouse), Second Lieutenant Ken Wrinkle (bulldog) and an entire platoon of hens!
WOW!
