What is the greatest number of people that you have ever fitted inside your car?
5? 6? 7!?
Of course, I don't care. Fitting a lot of people into a modern car is no achievement at all, since they are so large.
Fitting a lot of people into a Trabant 601, however, is a different story altogether!
And a slightly different story altogether from that different story is this different story: fitting a lot of crows into a Trabant 601!
But 'What is a Trabant 601?', I hear you typing into Wikipedia.
Stop! I will tell you.
The Trabant 601 was developed in 1957 by the East German government as an affordable car in the same vein as the Volkswagen Beetle.
Unlike the Beetle, however, the Trabant 601 was constructed from rubber, and had no doors. Instead, passengers had to peel back and climb in through the cling-film windows!
And now, back to the WOW.
On March 13th, 2006, Trabant enthusiast Klaus Schlitz became very familiar with the opening of the cling-film windows, as he attempted to set the WOW for the greatest number of crows inside a Trabant 601.
Klaus managed to cram an incredible 212 of the birds inside before the car's owner appeared and objected!
WOW!
