Random WOW: ' Most Deadly Liquid '

Largest Gathering of People Wearing Fleece Blankets

A leaking tent.
A sleeping bag that smells of feet.
Thousands of spiders.
A bucket full of piss.

If you've ever been camping, you'll immediately recognise that list. Of course, it's a list of items that you need when you go camping!

Camping first appeared in England in the early 1940s. With the Second World War about to begin, Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared that Londoners would be safer living in a nearby field than they would in the city. Thousands agreed, and Milton Keynes, the World's first camp site, appeared.

But without one piece of vital equipment, those thousands of campers might well have perished. Yes, without fleece blankets, it is quite conceivable that the vacant Milton Keynes would have become Hitler's first paratrooper target, immediately becoming occupied by hoards of camping Nazis, dominating the communal toilet facilities and alarming nearby cattle.
But that never happened, all thanks to fleece blankets!

The largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets occured in Kendal on the 19th of August 1996, when at least twenty people were reported to have been spotted wearing fleece blankets!
