There are many great programs on TV (television) nowadays.

Some are very short - the average child's cartoon lasts only three minutes. Some are very long - a film can last up to four hours!

But the length of the episode is nothing in comparison to the length that some television programmes have been running for!

Popular British comedy series, Last of the Summer Wine has been going for more than eighty years! It follows the antics of some old people, and is full of comedy, and old people.

Even longer than eighty years is one hundred years! But there are no television series that have lasted that long.

However, the longest running television program is The Olympics.
The running in that goes on for ages.
